Description: Yoga in Chairs - Fairbanks Living with Multiple Sclerosis - Sit Down - Feel Better Physical activity is extremely important for individuals with MS, and yoga is now recognized as an excellent means of MS management, whether the individual manifests little or no outward signs of the disease, or whether they spend most of their time in a wheelchair. Shelly Carlson, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and Access Alaska along with the Fairbanks MS Support Group is sponsoring Yoga classes for people with MS. These classes are free for those with MS. No experience is necessary and the classes are designed to include those of ALL abilities. Due to the increasing number of participants in the program each child is limited to two guaranteed day camp activities per month. Then the child may be put on a wait list for other activities.

Autism 203: Holidays
Description: Autism 203: Holidays address coping with holiday stress. This is presented by Steve Becker PhD. This course is a video teleconference class through the Seattle Children's Hospital and the University of Washington. Participants will see and hear experts discuss a variety of topics regarding autism, and interact through question and answer format following the lecture. This program may be viewed at the SESA office in Anchorage in the board room, but there is a limit of 20-25 persons. The doors will be opened at 5:15 PM. Outside of Anchorage area: • To connect via videoconferencing: Access to videoconferencing equipment, such as Polycom, and to an Internet connection (SESA uses GCI's SchoolAccess, using a router to connect to a partial T1 line) should be arranged. Many rural school districts have this type of equipment, as do some other sites. Communicating and Supporting Families Around FASD Care (Video Conference, Fairbanks)
Description: Building Partnerships Communicating and Supporting Families Around FASD Care is presented by Stone Soup Group's own - Cheri Scott , Parent Advocate/Arctic FASD RTC Affiliate Faculty Member Cheri Scott has years of experience working in the development and application of FASD training and support projects as a parent navigator and trainer at Stone Soup Group, a nonprofit organization serving families of Alaskan children and youth with special needs. Ms. Scott manages the statewide FASD Family Support Program and is the trainer for parent navigators with the FASD diagnostic teams in Alaska. Ms. Scott will be presenting a lecture based on her experiences in the field of family support and advocacy. No registration required and free to attendees.* Participants will be eligible to receive 2 continuing education credits for completion of each of these training sessions ($25 processing fee). Special Olympics Bowling (Fairbanks)
Description: Bowling for Special Olympic bowlers will be held at Nugget Lanes on Fort Wainwright beginning September 5th. Practices will continue to be held 12:30 to 3:00 PM each Saturday. Special Olympics Alaska does not charge a fee to participate, however they always accept donations to cover the costs.

Description: Kid's Swim at Hamme Pool on Saturday, September 12th. Bring swim gear. This is swimming for children 18 or under.

Tot Swim (Adaptive Recreation/Fairbanks)
Description: This program is for tots and children all ages under 18. It includes the use of the shallow section for the preschoolers and tots. The time will be used for exploratory play with a variety of materials. Parents know the ability of their child and if he/she needs additional assistance or security, a parent may want to attend the program with the child.
